Well, I beat Sapphire recently on Easy mode with 9 continues :P with the default blue-haired pilot. I plan to eventually beat it with all 4 pilots. Overall, I think that I have to give this a very solid '9' out of 10, with an extra point for being 2-player cooperative, which makes this game a '10' in my book. I do wish that it had a couple more stages, but then again its only being 5 stages long makes it an easy game to get in and out of pretty easily. The graphics are stunning, and I have to say that Sapphire really is a very good game, and I am well pleased with myself for getting an Arcade Card Duo so as to be able to play it. I unfortunately only have a 'boot', but I hope to be able to eventually acquire an authentic copy.
UN-believablely well designed game. I've played this on and off, from roms to real discs and only recently started to appreciate what an amazing feat this game is and its impact to the PC Engine history. The effects, visuals are amazing. The gameplay (though I hate vertical shoot em ups), are really, really good once you get into it. I love it and now own a legit copy in my collection. Great game in summary. 10/10.
An excellent game rereleased in the Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Collection on PSP. The character designs were done by Mika Akitaka, who also created Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. In fact, this game came about from the ORIGINAL PROPOSED CONCEPT for Galaxy Fraulein Yuna itself! Excellent music, stunning graphics, a cute cast of girls, plenty of cool mecha to battle...what's not to love? This super-rare game gets 10 out of 10!
Very expensive, but you get the best graphics on the system in return! The sound is way beyond average as well! However, someone not very gifted thought it was a good idea to add an extremely annoying sound whenever you shoot the green or the blue laser. Another thing which prevents it from being a 10/10 is the fact that you can't change the speed of the spaceship which is a little slow in my opinion. 9/10
