Best home port of the arcade until the polygon systems in the late '90s. Even then, it holds it's own. I subtracted points because the TurboGrafx/PCE was capable of even better: the bonus stages in this version look like shit, and they could have added more ground detail. Music is absolutely amazing, better than the arcade. And the "mothership" that reloads your missles literally looks like it was taken straight from the original arcade PCB. Go SEGA! I give 7/10.

Stomps a mud hole in the Genesis/Mega Drive version in every aspect. Def a worthy port in my book. 8 out of 10.
